Terms of Service

Please review our terms carefully before using Relyper.

1. Purpose of the Service

Relyper provides a technical platform for archiving and referencing digital content. Users can store immutable snapshots of:

• Web pages and online articles
• AI conversations (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
• Technical documentation and API responses
• Any digital content that requires stable, long-term references

Each snapshot is timestamped, versioned, and assigned a Perma ID for reliable citation in academic work, journalism, technical documentation, and other contexts.

2. User Responsibilities and Content Ownership

You are solely responsible for all content you upload or archive. The operator does not pre-screen content. By using Relyper, you warrant that:

• You have the necessary rights or legal permission to archive the content (e.g., copyright, citation rights)
• You do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• You do not store personal data of third parties without legal basis
• You do not upload illegal, defamatory, hate speech, or otherwise unlawful content
• You comply with applicable laws, including GDPR, copyright law, and data protection regulations
• You do not archive or upload copyrighted or access-controlled content (e.g., paywalled/DRM-protected material) unless you have permission or a clear legal basis
• You provide accurate registration information. If you can’t provide your full date of birth, you must at least provide the correct month and year.

3. Visibility Levels: Public, Hidden, and Private

Entries can be stored with different visibility levels:

• Public: Visible to all users, indexed in the public directory, and can be used as sources by others
• Hidden: Accessible only via direct Reference Link, not indexed or searchable
• Private: Visible only to your account when logged in
• Team: Shared with specific team members (Enterprise plan only)

You can change visibility settings at any time, unless the entry is locked (see section 4).

5. Abuse Reports and Takedown Requests

Rights holders and affected persons can submit abuse reports via the Abuse / Takedown page. We will review reports and may: Abuse / Takedown

• Temporarily suspend access to the content during investigation
• Remove content if a clear legal violation is identified
• Block content if it violates our terms or applicable law
• Request additional information from the reporter or uploader

We aim to respond to abuse reports within 48-72 hours. Users whose content is reported will be notified and given an opportunity to respond.

6. Subscription Plans and Limits

Relyper offers multiple subscription tiers:

• Free / Student: up to 50 total entries (20 private, 30 public), max 30 archived snapshots (3/source)
• Starter (3 EUR/month): up to 100 total entries (40 private, 60 public), 120 archived snapshots (5/source)
• Supporter (9 EUR/month): 400 private entries, 800 public entries, 400 archived snapshots (10/source), trending tags
• Pro (25 EUR/month): 1,000 private entries, 3,000 public entries, 1,500 archived snapshots (25/source), API/Webhooks
• Enterprise (from 990 EUR/year): Custom quotas, SSO, audit, SLAs

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Downgrading does not delete existing entries, but you may be unable to create new private entries if you exceed your new plan's limit. Payment processing for paid plans is handled by Stripe. Depending on the payment method and statement format, charges may appear as "GP" or "GP Coding (by Jonas)".

7. AI Safety and Privacy Layer

Relyper includes an AI-powered privacy detection layer that automatically:

• Scans content for personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, etc.)
• Flags sensitive information before publication
• Recommends visibility level based on content analysis
• Provides optional masking/redaction tools

Note: This is a best-effort safety feature. You remain responsible for ensuring compliance with privacy laws and data protection regulations.

8. Intellectual Property and Citation Rights

Archiving content for citation purposes may be protected by fair use, citation rights, or similar legal doctrines depending on your jurisdiction. Relyper does not provide legal advice. Users should:

• Ensure they have the right to archive and reference specific content
• Properly attribute sources when citing archived content
• Respect copyright licenses and terms of service of source websites
• Use archived content in accordance with fair use principles

9. Liability and Disclaimer

Relyper is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of archived content
• Permanent availability of snapshots (though we strive for long-term preservation)
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• That archived content matches the original source exactly

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Liability for slight negligence is excluded except for injury to life, body, or health.

RelyperAV, our integrated website security scanner, is provided on a best-effort basis. Scan results do not constitute a guarantee that a website is free from malicious content. No automated scanner can achieve 100% detection. Users must not rely solely on RelyperAV results for security decisions.

10. Data Processing and Privacy

Use of Relyper is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to data processing as described in the Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy.

10b. Community Ratings & Click Analytics

For the public directory, Relyper provides a community rating feature: Each user may cast exactly one vote per link (a 1–5 rating) or alternatively a downrate (−1). Downrates contribute with reduced weight to the average, and the number of downrates (−N) is displayed for transparency. Outbound clicks to external links are deduplicated (e.g., per fingerprint per day) to ensure fair popularity metrics and protect against abuse. 10a. Data Residency

All core service data (accounts, archived snapshots, link metadata) is stored exclusively in German data centers. Backups and redundancy remain within the same jurisdiction. No personal data is transferred outside the EU unless you explicitly use an export/integration feature that requires such transfer (future opt-in functionality). This localization strategy supports GDPR compliance and ensures that data access requests and disputes are handled under German / EU law.

Enterprise customers may request formal data processing agreements (DPA), audit summaries, or region-specific encryption key management as part of custom SLAs.

11. Termination and Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through account settings. Upon deletion:

• Private content will be deleted immediately
• Public content may be retained or anonymized to preserve references (see section 4)
• Your account data will be deleted within 30 days
• Billing records will be retained for legal compliance (typically 10 years for tax purposes)

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or pose security risks.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice in the application. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by German law. Place of jurisdiction is Aachen, Germany, if permitted by law. For consumer disputes, statutory provisions regarding jurisdiction apply.

14. Dispute Resolution

For disputes arising from these Terms, we encourage users to contact us directly for amicable resolution. EU consumers have access to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
