Paste text into the vSphere web console – passwords, commands and scripts, on any keyboard layout.

The vSphere HTML5 web console has no clipboard support for the virtual machine. TypeThru is a small browser extension for Chrome and Edge that types text into the console as real key presses – on login screens, during OS installation and without VMware Tools.

It presses the keys of the keyboard layout set inside the VM, including Shift and AltGr, so characters like @ { } [ ] \ | arrive correctly on German, Swiss, French, UK, Spanish, Italian and US layouts.
