Too much? Or the new age of AI?

13 projects, over 1,000 commits, around 250,000 lines of code. Is that too much for one person – and what does the AI actually do?

#AI Factory#Behind the scenes#Projects
What the AI Factory does – and what it doesn’t
  • It takes on: AI workers that work through tasks, job management at runtime, publishing projects – fast and around the clock.
  • It doesn’t: decide what gets built, and why. The idea, the direction and the moment you notice something is going wrong come from a human.
  • That is why knowledge matters: the fix for the 40-second night in telephony was a single line. But to ask the right question, you have to understand what a WebSocket frame is.

The question is an obvious one: isn’t this all too much? A link archive, a virus scanner, smart links, an AI factory, a phone assistant, piano, music – from one person?

The honest answer has two parts.

Part 1: Yes, the AI makes a big contribution

Without the Relyper AI Factory this site would not exist in this form. Many projects here were built with it, and it can publish them directly on this site. Telephony shows how fast things can go with AI support: 51 commits in five days.

That is exactly why the AI Factory is also meant to be offered as a service to others. What works here can help other teams too.

Explained simply: The AI Factory is like a team of very fast co-workers who never get tired. But a team needs someone who knows what to build – and who notices when something is off.

Part 2: But the ideas and the knowledge are what decides

An AI does not build an archive that still works in ten years on its own. It does not decide that saved pages have to be checked for viruses, or that a phone assistant has to say in the first sentence that it is an AI.

And when things get stuck, only deep technical understanding helps. When every call dropped after 40 seconds, the fix was a single line of code. Finding it required knowing how Asterisk sends audio, what a WebSocket frame is and which diagnostics to build in beforehand. More on that in the post AI telephony.

The numbers

First commit November 30, 2025
Commits in the main project over 1,000
Days with commits 117
Code around 250,000 lines in over 400 files
Projects 13

So: too much?

No, but different. In the past something like this would have been a team project over years. Today one person with clear ideas, deep knowledge and a good AI factory can build in months what used to take a whole team. To me that is the new age of AI: the AI does not replace thinking. It makes it possible to build more of what you come up with.
